Klausen/Chiusa

Toblach/Dobbiaco
The Three Peaks are the symbol of the Dolomites and therefore probably one of the most famous mountain peaks in the world.
Bozen/Bolzano
They are considered the heart of the Bolzano trade. Shops, cafés and delicatessens dominate the townscape. The arcades are considered to be architecturally unique and were built by bishops of Trento to boost trade.
Trento
The castle is one of the most important buildings in Trentino. It was built as an imperial residence and later became the residence of the Prince-Bishops of Trento.
Cortina d'Ampezzo
Since Cortina d'Ampezzo hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics, it has definitely been chosen as the most popular and exclusive mountain destination by sports and mountain lovers from all over Italy.
Kaltern/Caldaro
Lake Caldaro is one of the largest lakes in South Tyrol. With its summery 28 degrees water temperature it is one of the warmest bathing lakes in the entire Alpine region.
Farra d'Alpago
The lake, situated at an altitude of about 386 metres in the province of Belluno, is uninhabited on the eastern shore, while the small town of Santa Croce lies at the southern end. The lake with its green water is especially popular with windsurfers.

Day 1: Arrival in Alta Pusteria (Niederdorf/Villabassa or Toblach/Dobbiaco)

Individual arrival at the hotel in Alta Pusteria. Free, unguarded public car park near the hotel.

Day 2: Alta Pusteria – Brixen

(approx. 78 km, ascent 1416 m difference in altitude)

The first part of your cycling day leads along the river Rienz which accompanies you to Valdaora before you cycle over the Furkelpass into the Ladin-speaking valley Gadertal and back to the main valley Pustertal into the Michael- Pacher-town Brunico. After a short ascent on the sunny high plateau with its villages Falzes, Issengo and Terento you will get to the ruins of Mühlbacher Klause into the Eisacktal your target for today.

Day 3: Brixen – Bozen

(approx. 55 km, ascent 462 m difference in altitude)

Today, shortly before Brixen, you cycle past the monastery complex of Neustift or the Franzensfeste fortress, both of which invite you to visit. In Bressanone, it is worth taking a walk through the well-kept old town with its arcades and cathedral. From afar you are greeted by the Säben monastery, which stands high above Klausen and you cycle along the Eisack river to Waidbruck, where the view of the Trostburg castle opens up to you. Here the valley narrows and leads you into the Bolzano basin and your destination for today, the city where two cultures meet. There are numerous possibilities to spend the afternoon strolling under the arcades of Bolzano or on the alpine meadows, visiting „Ötzi“, the „oldest Tyrolean“ in the archaeological museum, or simply enjoying a cappuccino in one of the numerous cafés on the Waltherplatz.

Day 4: Bozen – Trento

(approx. 90 km, ascent 827 m difference in altitude)

Today you follow the Etsch river and leave South Tyrol at the Salurner Klause, the border between the German-speaking South Tyrol and the Italian-speaking Trentino. Fruit trees and vine lines your way to the former episcopal city of Trento, which is with its inviting old town and Buonconsiglio Castle.

Day 5: Trento – Feltre

(approx. 107 km, ascent 2511 m difference in altitude; or 82 km + 25 km by train, ticket not included)

You cycle past Lake Caldonazzo, which also invites you to stay. The first section to Caldonazzo is relatively steep and can also be shortened by train. The route continues through the impressive Valsugana valley to Feltre, a small town on the former „Via Claudia Augusta“.

Day 6: Feltre - Pieve di Cadore

(approx. 124 km, ascent 2600 m difference in altitude)

Through deciduous forest avenues you reach Belluno, the small capital of the province of the same name. Today‘s route is lined with picturesque little villages that invite you to stop. In the north, your sight falls back to the mighty southern Dolomites, your companions on your first stages. You continue your way north past Longarone. This village was rebuilt in a very short time, after it was destroyed by a rockslide in 1963 the former Vajont dam and was flooded by a tidal wave. The newly built cycle path leads from Longarone to Pieve di Cadore, your destination for today.

Day 7: Pieve di Cadore - Alta Pusteria

(approx. 91 km, ascent 1551m difference in altitude)

Pure nature, that is the motto of today. The most important and largest stopover on the railway was the wellknown winter sports and Olympic venue Cortina d‘Ampezzo, where you will also cycle past today - surrounded by some of the most famous Dolomite peaks. Continue along the route of the Dolomite railway to the border of the province of Belluno and finally return to South Tyrol. Enjoy the panoramic view of the rock formation of the „Three Peaks“.

This question is often asked when planning this kind of holydays. And unfortunately, the answer is anything but easy. Of course, we try to give you the opportunity to estimate the sporting challenge with the announcement of the racing bike tour, kilometre and altitude information, etc.
But if it is already difficult to estimate it for oneself, then it is almost impossible for us to answer this answer satisfactorily.
Nevertheless: A realistic self-assessment and a good preparation are very important and make the trip a positive experience and unforgettable holiday and not a fight.

After a fixed booking we will be gladly to send you the GSP data.
