For intermediate hikers. Expect 4 to 7 h (or even 9 h!) of walking by day, from 300 to 1,200m of ascent by day.

Day 1: Les Contamines
Individual arrival in the traditional village of Les Contamines.
Overnight in a nice 2* hotel; half board.
Day 2: Les Contamines - Les Chapieux*
6 to 7 h walk, +1,200m, -900m.
A short transfer to Notre Dame de la Gorge. Climb over the Col du Bonhomme and the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme leading to the Chapieux valley. Cross over the Aiguille des Glaciers, you will be in the midst of splendid sights.
Overnight in a mountain lodge/hotel; half board.
*In case Les Chapieux is not available, we book a hotel in Bourg St Maurice instead.
Day 3: Les Chapieux - Courmayer
6 h walk, +765 m, -880 m
*If you stayed in Bourg St Maurice : Transfer at 6:55 am sharp from Bourg Saint Maurice to Ville des Glaciers in public shuttle (6€ to pay on spot), departure of today’s hike.
Reach Ville des Glacier to start the hike (45mn walk), in summer free public shuttle are available. Venture over the Col de la Seigne to the Italian side of the boarder. On this walk, you can expect spectacular views. Descent into Val Veny and take a bus from La Cantine de la Visaille to Courmayeur. A great panoramic view upon the Grandes Jorasses.
Overnight in in Courmayeur in a 3* hotel or in B&B on the room basis.
Day 4: Courmayeur – Champex (Val d’Arpette)
6 to 7 h walk, +850m, -1,000m.
Cross the Grand Col Ferret and arrive in the quaint but beautiful village of La Fouly in Switzerland. Take part in the exceptional views over the massif of Combins in the East and on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. Transfer by Postal Bus to Champex, a Swiss village boasting a beautiful lake. The lodge-hotel in Val D’Arpette, Relais d’Arpette, is some 45 min further by foot.
Overnight in Relais Arpette; half board.
Day 5: Champex (Val d’Arpette) – La Forclaz*/Trient
7 to 9 h walk, +1,050m, -1,385m/ in case of uncertain weather 5:30 h of walking, + 800m, -1,135m
The highest point of the walk is reached today as you climb over the Fenêtre d’Arpette (2,750 m) savor the breath-taking views while you go down alongside the Trient glacier.
*If you sleep in Trient, from Col de La Forclaz it’s +20 min, -230m, +1, 5 km. By doing so, you slightly shorten the next stage.
Overnight in lodge in Col de La Forclaz or in Trient; half board.
Day 6 : La Forclaz/Trient – Le Tour or Argentière
6 to 7 h walk, +1,000m, -1,050m.
Cross over the Col de la Balme and back to France with fantastic views on the Mont Blanc and Aiguille Verte, you will have the option between 2 alternative routes for the descent to Tour or into the village of Argentières.
Overnight in 3* hotel in Argentières with halfboard.
Day 7: Le Tour/Argentière - Chamonix
6 hrs walk, +900m, -1,100m.
Enjoy the wonderful Balcon des Aiguilles Rouges, before a climb to Lac Blanc. Take in all the beautiful scenery that follows : Aiguille Verte, Les Drus, La Mer de glace, Aiguilles de Chamonix, Mont Blanc du Tacul, Aiguille du Goûter, and last but not least, the Mont Blanc! Descend to Chamonix by Le Praz. You can also choose to take the cableway of La Flégère or even by bus (transfers not included in the price).
Overnight in a 3* hotel in Chamonix; B&B.
Day 8: individual departure
Departure after breakfast.
We can be brought to modify the indicated route: either at the level of the organization (problem of overload of the accommodations, the modification of the state of the ground, the collapses, the degraded paths, etc.). These modifications are always made in your interest, for your safety and for a better comfort!

Warning: from 15/06 to 30/06 and from 01/09 to 15/09, there is a strong risk of snow and snowdrifts. Some buses do not work, and it is necessary to replace them by a cab: day 3 from Chapieux to the Ville des Glaciers (possibility to do it on foot, 5km). And on day 3 from the Cantine de visailles to Courmayeur, possibility to take a cab. (Prices on request)
